43rd International Trout Week (León)

Thinkfish sponsored the forty-third edition of International Trout Week in León. In this edition Jesus Picón obtained top place on the podium, with a total of 27 trout and 9,166 points, more than 2,000 more than the next classifier, David Calzado, also with 27 trout. Third place went to Isidro Soto, with 18 trout and 7,037 points.

Held every year since 1943, the International Week angling championships has one of the longest traditions and histories in Spain, attracting more than 300 fly fishers to the city of León, of which only 36 took part in this final.

Apart from these top three prizes, classifications were as follows:

Best Spanish angler classified: Jorge García Felipe (Valencia)
Best independent angler classified: Antonio Antón Santos (Valladolid)
Best classifier in "Leonese" angling: Carlos Campelo Prieto (León)
Highest number of catches in the final: 27 trout - Jesus Picón (León)
Biggest trout: 57.2 cm. - Carlos Campelo (León)
Top foreign angler classified: Jean Claude Chemin (France)
Top Lady Classified: Diana Begoña Méndez Díez
Highest number of catches in one day of the final: 22 trout – David Calzado Huerta

Thinkfish awarded a pair of Thinkfish Eyes angling glasses to each of the first three classifiers.
